Show Notes:

What will it take for the family farm to remain successful for the next generation, and the generation after that?

For our 100th episode of Boots Off Log On!, we’re joined by three experienced agribusiness advisors: Mike Stephens from Meridian Agriculture, Paul McKenzie from Agrarian Management and Ben Law from Agricoach.

Together, we explore the future of the family farm, including the growing pressures of succession, rising land values, debt, scale and the challenge of balancing a viable farming business with the needs of the wider family.

We look at what successful families are doing differently, from starting succession conversations early and building off-farm assets to knowing their numbers, improving governance and bringing the next generation into major business decisions.

We also explore what the successful family farm of 2040 might look like, and why the next generation may need to think less like traditional farmers and more like high-performing teams, entrepreneurs and multi-generational asset managers.
